The author, 'Abd al-Wahid al-Fasi (d. 1942) served as mufti in his city of birth, Fes, during the first part of the twentieth century, a transitional period between "Morocco that was" and colonial Morocco after the French protectorate was imposed in 1912. The two volume collection contains 237 fatwa-s covering all kinds of legal cases which were submitted to the courts in the city of Fes (Ahbas property, commercial partnership, etc.).
